The board of directors of the Turkish Forwarding and Logistics Association has welcomed Ayfer Vurgun as its newest member.

Founded in 1986, UTIKAD has become the leading non-governmental voice for Turkey's dynamic transportation and logistics industry, representing companies across all areas – from land, air, and sea freight to warehousing, fast cargo, and customs brokerage.

UTIKAD's reach extends beyond domestic borders, encompassing international operations as well. Functioning as the industry's advocate, it represents both UTIKAD members and the broader Turkish logistics sector on various national and international platforms. Its vision is ambitious, aiming to be a leader in shaping and optimising global logistics infrastructure and supply chains.

"I am honoured to have been elected as a board member", stated Ayfer Vurgun, General Manager of Transmec Turkey. “I look forward to collaborating with my fellow board members and stakeholders to drive positive change and innovation within the industry."

Ayfer's appointment to the Board of Directors is a testament to her expertise, leadership, and dedication to the logistics field. In her own words:

"UTIKAD extended the invitation for me to join their esteemed board of directors and I was privileged to accept the position. It is a profound honour to have been chosen by my peers to serve in this capacity. Over the next two years, I am deeply committed to contributing my insights and experience in the industry to further the objectives of the organisation."

As a board member, Ayfer will bring her wealth of experience and insight to bear on UTIKAD's strategic initiatives. In particular, she will play a pivotal role in the Woman Logisticians Focus Group, spearheading efforts to empower and encourage women in the logistics sector. Additionally, Ayfer will contribute her expertise to the Road Transport Working Group, driving innovation and excellence in this critical aspect of the industry.

Her tenure on the board not only underscores her personal achievements but also reflects Transmec Group's ongoing commitment to shaping the future of logistics in Turkey and beyond.
