The fast lane from Morocco to the UK
Transmec is stepping up services from Morocco to the UK, providing fast, direct overland connections.
The expanding road freight options build on years of successful full-load operations between the two countries.
Further increasing full-load capability, the plan also involves offering more partload transport and launching a groupage service as soon as possible.
Covering Morocco’s key export sectors – including fashion, textiles, automotive and biomedical - goods are collected nationwide via Transmec’s branches in Casablanca and Tangier. Loads then depart from Tangier, crossing to Algeciras before continuing to the UK.
Operations in Morocco are managed by STC, a Transmec subsidiary with more than 20 years’ experience in freight transport between North Africa and Europe.
“Customers have been asking for more services into the UK, so we’re responding to demand,” said Adrian Nicholls, Transmec Group’s commercial director.
“By evolving our existing network, we’re able to offer a premium service that keeps pace with the demands of modern supply chains.”
Designed to match the fastest transit times, the service also offers end-to-end visibility and in-house customs management.
UK country manager Daniel Holmes said Morocco was becoming an increasingly important near-shore sourcing hub for UK-based retailers and manufacturers.
“Our service gives them a dependable, well-managed route with the same group overseeing every stage of the journey. The time is right to expand it,” he added.
