Milan logistics hub obtains LEED Gold certification
Transmec Group continues its path of sustainable growth by achieving the prestigious certification for the new Truccazzano logistics hub, inaugurated in early 2024.
The LEED environmental certification standard - Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design - has recognised the sustainability of Transmec Group's new Milan logistics site, evaluating its performance across seven categories: location, site sustainability, energy and water efficiency, materials and resources management, air quality, and innovation.
By achieving the Gold level, Transmec once again demonstrates that combining business growth with environmental responsibility is achievable. The steadfast commitment in this area reflects a corporate strategy placing sustainability at the core of its operations, promoting a development model aimed at reducing environmental impact and creating value for the community.
"We have created a space capable of meeting the most complex operational needs, while simultaneously minimizing environmental impact," explained Danilo Montecchi, CEO of Transmec Group.
"This project shows that sustainability should not be seen as a compromise, but as an added value that goes hand in hand with functionality and operational effectiveness. With innovative solutions and careful planning, we have built a facility that meets the highest standards of energy and environmental efficiency, without sacrificing the quality of our performance."
However, that is not all: over the coming months, energy efficiency improvements will be implemented at the adjacent existing building, aiming to achieve LEED Silver certification under the LEED Existing Buildings protocol.
