A new chapter for Granada: Q&A with new branch manager Emilio Rodríguez
Driven by teamwork, regional expertise, and a commitment to frictionless international logistics, Emilio Rodríguez takes the helm of Transmec’s Granada branch.
Transmec De Bortoli Group’s footprint in Spain relies on a powerful formula: five key locations, over 150 logistics professionals and a full suite of services spanning multimodal transport, customs consultancy and smart warehousing.
At the centre of this network is Granada, a vital hub linking southern Spain to international markets.
We caught up with the new Branch Manager, Emilio Rodríguez, to find out how he plans to take the branch to the next level.
To begin, could you briefly tell us about your professional career and the key experiences that led you to this position?
"Since joining TDBG in 2022, my journey has been defined by hands-on experience across different departments, gaining a broad understanding of both our operations and the regional market. This multi-faceted perspective, combined with my background in the banking sector, which honed my customer focus and leadership skills, has been invaluable.
Working closely with the exceptional team in Granada has tied everything together, giving me the deep operational insights and regional clarity needed to take on this new role and drive the branch forward."
Granada holds an important strategic position within the network. What makes this branch unique, and how does it strengthen the Group’s interconnected operations?
“Our unique edge lies in our workforce: a pool of experienced professionals whose deep market intelligence translates directly into exceptional customer service. It is this shared commitment that powers Granada as a vital commercial bridge, efficiently linking the region with our sister branches in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, and Bilbao.
By leveraging TDBG’s capillary network and multimodal capabilities, including eco-friendly rail transport, we ensure Andalusian businesses link smoothly with major European and global markets."
What are the primary challenges currently facing clients in southern Spain?
"Today’s businesses operate in a fiercely competitive market where flexibility, efficiency, and cost control are non-negotiable. To thrive globally, they need more than standard transport; they require real-time visibility, digital solutions, and robust support for international growth.
That is where we step in as a true trusted partner. Beyond moving cargo, we simplify their entire supply chain through a complete suite of bespoke foreign trade services."
What are your immediate priorities for the coming months?
"My focus is dual: supporting our excellent local team, while strengthening our market position in southern Spain. Crucial to this will be expanding our strategic warehousing capabilities in Andalucía. Enhancing our storage and value-added logistics operations here will allow us to react even faster to shifting market demands and unlock new growth opportunities for our clients."
How do you plan to foster collaboration and drive success with your team?
" Success in logistics is entirely built on collaboration, trust, and open communication. My goal is to work closely alongside my Granada colleagues, supporting their professional development and encouraging continuous knowledge sharing.
At the end of the day, logistics is a people business. Our truest asset is the incredible network of experts who put their heart into keeping supply chains moving every single day. Here in Granada, my focus is entirely on nurturing that collaborative spirit, creating a warm, supportive environment where everyone can thrive, share ideas, and succeed together.”
