Team Transmec responds after tragedy

Josh Bruton, who had worked for Transmec UK for more than ten years, was tragically killed in a car accident in May, leaving a partner, Chloe, and their young son, Caden.

Transmec employees have responded by supporting fundraising events held for the family, notably a charity football match held at Redditch United’s stadium.

The teams were captained by former Premier League footballers Clinton Morrison and Stiliyan Petrov, who played for fierce local rivals Birmingham City and Aston Villa, respectively.

Assistant branch manager Matt Clinton and logistics coordinator Jamie O’Brien, both City fans (Blue Noses), played for Team Noses, led by Morrison. The duo delivered strong performances as their side narrowly lost to Team Villains, skippered by Petrov.

“It was great to take part and play in Josh’s memory and to support an event where the community really came together. Football rivalries certainly proved a force for good,” said Matt.

“Josh was incredibly popular and everyone is devastated by his passing. Lots of his Transmec colleagues attended the match, with many helping behind the scenes to contribute to its success.”

Josh, who worked on the gym logistics team, was himself a keen bodybuilder and the football match was organised by his gym, The Fit Club, as was a charity golf tournament in which a Transmec team participated and emerged victorious.

Country manager, Daniel Holmes, said: “Josh is missed by us all. He was a vibrant and cherished member of the gym installation team, known to all as ‘the nicest bloke that there is’.

“Josh would always be the first to welcome you with that infectious smile and vice-like grip when he shook your hand. He was that gentle giant.”
