How Transmec Romania combined sustainability and team spirit to turn trail restoration into lasting workplace value
Set against the scenic backdrop of Vadul Crișului in the Bihor region, Transmec RO employees and their families took part in ReMARKable Team, a hands-on team-building experience with a meaningful goal: restoring mountain trails while developing valuable skills that can be applied far beyond the slopes.
Organised for colleagues from the Oradea headquarters, the CSR initiative brought together 41 participants - 23 Transmec RO employees from departments including accounting, operations, warehouse, and back office, alongside 18 family members - for a truly collaborative interdepartmental experience.
Through a series of outdoor activities, teams worked to rehabilitate trekking paths, build resting spots for hikers, and learn essential mountain safety principles from expert guides. But this was far more than just a day in the great outdoors.
The project was designed as a learning process—an opportunity to strengthen knowledge, develop soft skills, and encourage new attitudes, all of which are essential for professional growth.
The setting may have been the mountains, but the impact was deeply rooted in the everyday work environment.
Throughout the initiative, participants developed a strong sense of ownership over their role, alongside a deeper understanding of how individual contributions shape team success.
“What truly stood out during the event was how naturally the colleagues developed a strong sense of ownership and appreciation for each other’s roles. We witnessed clear, open communication across departments—and even across generations,” stated Human Resources Specialist, Ioana Preda.
“The experience strengthened team cohesion, encouraged leadership, and fostered respectful and effective collaboration. These are exactly the kinds of behaviours that help us work better together every day, delivering results with greater confidence and unity.”
ReMARKable Team was not only about developing people—it was also about caring for the planet. By contributing to the revitalisation of local mountain paths, the group left a visible mark on the landscape, creating safer, more welcoming routes for the community and future hikers.
At Transmec, building strong teams starts with shared experiences that matter—experiences rooted in care. This was more than just a team-building experience; it was a reflection of how Transmec handles everything—with care.
A commitment to people and the planet.
