Going the ‘eggstra’ mile to support children in hospital
The generosity of Transmec’s London Gateway branch brought Easter cheer to their local children’s ward.
Employees donated 100 Easter eggs, which branch manager Steve Day and HR advisor Danielle Heijlond delivered to the Mid & South Essex Hospitals Charity at Basildon Hospital.
Danielle, who promoted the Donate an Easter Egg campaign, said:
“I’m passionate about team spirit and charity initiatives, especially those for the local community. The idea came from a previous initiative I took part in, which was a huge success.
“I thought I would bring this initiative to London Gateway for the first time and again it has been a big success. The response has been extremely positive and I am very proud of our team's generosity.”
Thanking the branch for the donation, Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust said:
"Mid & South Essex Hospitals Charity are proud to support the work of Southend, Basildon and Broomfield hospitals, helping to enhance the service above and beyond what the NHS alone can provide.
“Your kind contribution is part of the wider effort that makes an immeasurable difference to patients and their families, when they are at their most vulnerable."
