One shirt, one city: Transmec takes to the pitch with Modena Rugby

Local authorities, sponsors, and athletes gather at the Military Academy in Modena to celebrate a partnership that extends far beyond the pitch.

Against the majestic backdrop of Modena’s Military Academy, whose historic walls echo values of discipline and enduring character, Modena Rugby officially kicked off its 2026/2027 season.

Transmec has enthusiastically renewed its sponsorship of the club, continuing a shared journey built on daily dedication and mutual respect.

With 513 registered members ranging from four-year-olds to adults, and a team competing in Serie A for the second consecutive year, the numbers speak volumes about the club's deep roots in the local area.

The players’ journey begins at a very young age and continues over time: growing together, the club serves as a key educational and social pillar for the entire community.

The strong connection between local institutions and the sporting world was highlighted by Major General Stefano Messina, Commander of the Military Academy of Modena.

In his address, he noted how the Academy’s motto, "UNA ACIES" ("One Line"), resonates perfectly with the spirit of rugby: standing together as a cohesive unit, driven by healthy competition and team strength.

This vision was reinforced by Enrico Freddi and Alessandro Mazzi, President and Vice President of Modena Rugby respectively. In their speeches, rugby was described as a genuine school for life, an environment where individuals grow both as athletes and as people, with true inclusion and team spirit at its core: moving forward together, leaving no one behind.

These values and energy closely mirror the identity of the Transmec Group, as emphasised by Group CMO Carlotta Montecchi:

"Perseverance and commitment always pay off, in sport as in business. Supporting Modena Rugby is about much more than backing a sports club: it means nurturing our roots, giving back to the community where we were founded, and representing the people of Modena with a deep sense of responsibility and pride."

The club’s social commitment is also reflected in practical initiatives, such as a new partnership with the local prison (Casa Circondariale) to form a rugby team. This initiative aims to aid rehabilitation and offer a second chance to offenders by instilling rules that apply on the pitch and in everyday life.

Alongside this, the club continues its collaboration with the Il Tortellante Association, organising sports activities for young people with disabilities to prove once again that sport is truly for everyone.
