A sweet gesture for a great cause: Transmec UK celebrates Easter with solidarity
This Easter, the London Gateway team transformed a seasonal celebration into a meaningful opportunity to give back.
In the days leading up to the Easter break, the London office launched a creative fundraising campaign to engage employees and support a vital local cause. The initiative centred around a classic challenge: ‘How many Easter eggs are in the jar?’
Equipped with a jar filled with various chocolate treats, the team visited staff across the site, inviting donations in exchange for a guess. The event sparked a wave of friendly competition and engagement, culminating on 2 April, when the winner was revealed. Frankie Rowley, Accounts Assistant at LGW, displayed impressive precision by guessing the exact number of eggs—114 in total—to claim the prize.
The proceeds from this fundraiser were dedicated to Little Havens, a specialist charity providing palliative and end-of-life care for children and young adults. Little Havens offers a "home from home" environment, providing essential medical care, emotional support, and respite for families navigating incredibly difficult journeys.
Transmec UK selected this charity to ensure that the generosity of its employees would provide a direct, positive impact on the local community, helping the hospice continue its mission of making every day count for those in its care.
"Our guiding philosophy is simple: ‘we handle with care’.
This principle extends beyond the goods transported, reaching into the very heart of the communities the company serves.
Seeing the team come together with such enthusiasm for Little Havens reinforces the idea that Transmec's greatest strength is its collective heart", explained Danielle Heijlond, HR Advisor at Transmec UK.
The organisation extends its sincere gratitude to every team member who participated and donated. It is through these shared moments of solidarity that the Group continues to build a culture of care and social awareness.
Together, Transmec is moving more than just freight. It is contributing to a brighter future for the local community.
