The Turin branch looks ahead: building the future, starting with people
Between continuity and new challenges, the story of branch manager Kriton Barra
There are moments when one journey comes to an end and, almost without a sound, another begins.
After more than twenty years of history, the Transmec Turin branch is entering a new phase. At the helm is Kriton Barra, the new branch manager, tasked with taking on an important legacy and turning it into momentum.
Kriton, the Turin branch has come through a significant transition. What kind of moment is this for the team?
“It is undoubtedly a very important transition. After more than twenty years, Irene Colombo has left the branch, and with her goes a truly unique professional profile. I had the good fortune to share my last few months in the office with her and to see her way of working up close, but even today I continue to hear about her from colleagues, clients and partners. Irene deserves a sincere thank you for everything she has built and for the mark she has left.”
Looking ahead, what kind of year will 2026 be for Turin?“It will be a year of major challenges. The first concerns the team: the group is going through a natural growth process, which will require greater autonomy and responsibility. It is not an easy step, but it is essential for the branch to mature.”
The external context is not an easy one. How are you responding?
“We are all aware of the difficulties of the current economic environment. Precisely for this reason, it is essential to remain highly focused, guarantee excellent service and continue to develop new opportunities, without ever lowering our level of professionalism with long-standing clients.”
2026 has also started with new team members.
“Exactly, and this is an important signal. The branch has been strengthened by two new colleagues who are already making their mark. Malina, Land Export Employee, comes from a major international logistics operator and, in just a few months, has shown great curiosity, a strong desire to learn and a real team spirit. Giulia, Land Import & Export Specialist, on the other hand, comes from a large courier group and has a cross-functional role: a true point of connection between departments, with the aim of gaining an in-depth understanding of operational dynamics and supporting the team as a whole.”
In summary, how would you describe this new beginning?
“It is a beginning that calls for responsibility, courage and vision. The challenges are real, but so are the opportunities. Our strength will be the team: working together, growing together and facing change with a practical mindset. 2026 has only just begun, but we know exactly where we want to go.”
