New train between Romania and Poland
Transmec Group has expanded its successful intermodal services by launching a new route.
The first train to Lodz, in central Poland, departed from Oradea, Romania, on March 20th, in cooperation with P&O Ferrymasters.
Beginning with one roundtrip per week, the service will be increased with a second departure running from May.
The departure schedule is as follows:
1st Departure
Oradea(RO) WED 10:00 -> Lodz(PL) THU 23:00
Lodz(PL) FRI 8:00 -> Oradea(RO) SAT 22:00
2nd Departure (from May)
Oradea(RO) FRI 22:00 -> Lodz(PL) SUN 10:00
Lodz(PL) TUE 22:00 -> Oradea(RO) THU 12:00
Managing director of Transmec Group, Danilo Montecchi, said: “Demand for intermodal continues to grow. Last year we moved 13,000 intermodal shipments to and from Romania with a high average fill rate of the trains.
“Oradea, our private terminal jointly owned with P&O Ferrymasters, is a superb facility that provides a price-competitive and eco-friendly gateway to important growth markets. Our ongoing investment is enabling us to run more services across Europe.”
