London Gateway port services
All the services you need for your shipments.

London sea freight
Transmec operates a range of sea freight and customs clearance services from its hub at London Gateway Logistics Park, just minutes from DP World London Gateway port.
London Gateway is the UK’s fastest-growing port and the primary UK hub for the Gemini partnership between Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd.
Transmec’s cost-effective services include sea freight, container transport, and other port services, as well as logistics, haulage, storage, customs warehousing, and customs clearance.
We can provide end-to-end or targeted solutions, all tailored to meet the precise requirements of your supply chain.

Sea freight
Transmec’s sea freight team can arrange for imported and exported goods to be transported between London Gateway (and other UK ports) and ports worldwide, including those in China and the Far East, India, the Middle East, North and South America.
We have an extensive global network to manage sea freight and enjoy close relationships with all the major shipping companies, including Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd.
Port services and freight forwarding
Our comprehensive port services at London Gateway include container shunting, devanning, stuffing, and cargo cross-docking.
Our base on London Gateway Logistics Park gives us priority access to the port.
Able to utilise Transmec’s extensive vehicle fleet, we transport container freight between the port and any UK location.
We can also store and/or sort goods in our 155,000 sq ft (14,400 sq m) warehouse.
Combining both our storage, logistics and transport expertise, and offering potentially significant savings on customs duty, we’re able to operate as a client’s UK distribution centre.

Customs clearance
Our own customs experts manage the customs clearance and associated documentation for all imports and exports.
We avoid potential delays by ensuring everything is in order before goods arrive at the port.
Storage and customs warehousing
Our warehouse has racking for 20,000 pallets and dedicated logistics spaces.
The entire area is a designated customs warehouse, meaning customs duty and import VAT don’t have to be paid until goods leave. This maximises cash flow and enables importers to move goods at different times.
Additional customs warehousing is available at Transmec’s Redditch warehouse, near Birmingham.
Quality assurance
Transmec UK is AEOF certified (Authorized Economic Operator – Full), ensuring numerous benefits, including faster customs clearance, priority treatment in security checks, and mutual recognition with other international programmes.
This certification enhances supply chain efficiency, reduces delays and costs, and strengthens trust with customs authorities and business partners.
