Transmec’s grocery logistics company, Transmec To Be, has opened a new warehouse in southern Italy in order to manage increasing volumes and maintain its high service level to customers.
Located on the outskirts of Naples, near Caserta, the warehouse has currently a capacity of 15,000 pallets and this is expected to double in the next 12 months.
The warehouse will be used to manage deliveries to supermarket chains, wholesalers and small retail outlets throughout central and southern Italy.
Luigi Pasini, operating director of Transmec To Be, said: "For our sector, the regions of southern Italy are very important and we want to ensure we continue to provide strategic value and the high standards of quality and service that differentiate us from others."
“The new warehouse, combined with strong and effective management, will enable us to strengthen our presence in this area and continue to provide maximum service guarantees throughout the country."
The Caserta multiproduct hub complements Transmec To Be’s existing direct network, which consists of warehouses in Milan and Modena (for Italy) and Lyon (for France).
