Transmec Group’s holding company has achieved gender equality among its employees – a rare feat in the transport and logistics sector.
Trasporti Internazionali Transmec s.p.a., which employs 300 people, even has a majority of female managers, with around 60 per cent holding a senior position.
Franca Scagliarini, Transmec Group’s HR manager, said: "There hasn't been a policy of promoting females to top roles – decisions have been taken based on the ability of each individual and their performance.
“There have been, and still are, replacements for those on maternity leave, but every employee has always returned to their rightful place.
“At the same time, in line with business needs, we have made internal transfers, for example for operational roles with evening and night working hours.”
International Transport Transmec s.p.a. has six companies in Italy. Its subsidiaries, which it has 100 per cent control of, are based elsewhere in Europe and overseas.
