Turnover rises as Transmec Romania continues to expand

Business is booming for Transmec in Romania, with its biggest branch seeing turnover rise by almost 20 per cent.

Transmec Ro is one of the top freight transport and logistics companies in Romania with branches in Bucharest, Brasov, Timisoara and Oradea, where its largest depot is located.

The first six months of 2019 have seen part-load (LTL) and full load (FTL) road transport business continue to grow, particularly internationally.

Transmec Ro’s 150-strong vehicle fleet is controlled from Oradea where teams manage freight deliveries across Europe – and not just standard loads.

“Whilst our main activity is traditional freight forwarding, our management of special loads is growing in significance,” explained Oradea branch manager, Emanuel Barboni.

“For transporting large machinery and oversize loads we now have a range of specialised trailers, which include platforms and widening trailers with ramps.”

The special trailers are used to transport access equipment throughout Europe for JLG, a world-leading designer and manufacturer of access equipment, whose production centre is in Medias in central Romania.

Similar services are provided for other leading manufacturers of large machinery.

“Our services are being very well received by clients and we’re on course for an extremely successful year,” added Emanuel.

Transmec operates two warehouses in Oradea. Its own facility is 10000 sq m, whilst a second site of more than 6000 sq m is dedicated to managing just-in-time deliveries for JLG.

The city is also home to Transmec’s private rail terminal which provides regular intermodal services to destinations in countries across Europe, including Italy, Belgium, Germany and Poland.
