Transmec Romania sets out its solutions

Strategies for managing ongoing market challenges were high on the agenda at an event organised by Transmec for its key clients in Romania.

Held at the exclusive Atra Doftana hotel, Transmec’s presentation was attended by customers from the automotive, manufacturing and fashion sectors.

“We explained exactly what we’re doing to minimise the impact of current challenges such as the driver shortage, the Covid pandemic and the flow of goods from the Far East,” explained Transmec’s global account manager, Carmen Sandu.

“Measures we’re taking include initiatives to retain and recruit drivers, using the latest fleet management technology and extending our high-value logistics services.

“We’ve also been taking advantage of Transmec’s rail capability, including the provision of new intermodal services to and from China and north Africa.”

Clients were advised on how to plan for ongoing disruption to supply chains that’s expected to become the rule rather than the exception.

“We certainly found it extremely valuable to spend time with our customers and our presentation was very well received,” added Carmen.

Set up in 2007, Transmec Ro has grown rapidly to become one of Romania’s largest freight transport companies.

The company operates from four sites: Bucharest, Brasov, Timisoara and Oradea (pictured), which is also the location of Transmec’s own rail terminal, a hub for intermodal services to and from Belgium/the UK, Poland (with new links to Xi’an, China), and Italy (with connections to north Africa).
