Transmec prepares for London Gateway opening
Transmec UK’s “game-changing” move to a state-of-the-art warehouse on the prestigious London Gateway site is just weeks away.
Home to Transmec’s London branch from March 2023, the 14,400 sq m (155,050 sq ft) hub will increase the branch’s capacity by 50 per cent, enabling it to significantly extend its range of supply chain solutions.
Providing sought-after warehousing capacity, the high-security site offers 30,000 racked pallet spaces as well as chilled storage and a dedicated bonded area.
Customers will also benefit from London Gateway’s strategic location. Only 28 miles from central London, it offers a three-berth, deep-sea container port, an international rail freight terminal and easily accessible road connections.
“London Gateway is a game changer for Transmec in terms of the range of services we can offer compared to our current site at West Thurrock,” said branch manager, Imran Mohammed.
“In addition to storage and distribution, these include improved supply chain solutions and logistics for multiple sectors such as manufacturing, fashion, automotive and leisure. It’s also well-located for handling imports and exports, with our own team able to manage customs requirements.”
The London branch will continue to link closely with the Transmec Group network in 28 locations across Europe, including further UK warehouses at Redditch, Worcester and Bradford.
