Transmec opens a new branch in northern Spain
Transmec has opened its fifth branch in Spain with a new base in Bilbao serving northern provinces and ports.
Initially focusing on sea, air and customs services, the branch will eventually offer warehousing and road transport connecting northern Spain with the rest of Europe.
Transmec now has local teams covering all Spain’s biggest ports, with established branches at Valencia, Barcelona and Granada (serving Algeciras). Its other site is in Madrid.
As well as Bilbao port and airport, the new branch will cover the port of Gijon, supporting customers in all northern territories, including Asturias, Cantabria, Basque Country, La Rioja and Navarra.
“The Bilbao branch will ensure we develop and strengthen our coverage in this area of Spain,” explained Alberto Loeches, managing director of Transmec De Bortoli Group España.
“The office is run by a great team who all come from the Basque Country. Their knowledge and expertise will enable us to manage freight transport and customs for clients in a wide range of sectors.”
