Transmec moves to state-of-the-art hub in Barcelona
Transmec’s division in Spain is set for further growth after moving its Barcelona branch to a state-of-the-art hub in the city’s port area.
Twice the size of its former site, the new depot is based within the ZAL Port, one of the most advanced and well-connected logistics gateways in Europe.
Customers can take advantage of 8,000 sq m of warehouse space – including racking for 5,000 pallets – with 28 loading bays and a ramp for unloading vans.
A further 1,000 sq m of office space will accommodate additional staff to ensure that service for customers and partners keeps pace with the expanding business.
“The move was vital and really sets us up for the future. The facilities and location are superb,” explained Alberto Loeches, managing director, Transmec De Bortoli Group (TDBG) España.
As well as being far bigger, the warehouse is equipped with the very latest security and fire control technology.
The eco-friendly building also has LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold Certification, which recognises the highest standards of sustainability in its construction, maintenance, and operation.
