Strong start for direct service between Poland and Spain

The success of Transmec’s new groupage service between Poland and Spain has led to a second weekly departure.

Originally launched in April, the each-way service connects Transmec’s hubs in Tychy and Barcelona.

“Freight volumes between the two countries had been steadily increasing in both directions,” said Krystian Dulawa, managing director of Transmec Poland.

“So, it was a natural next step for us to work together and improve our support for customers by introducing a weekly groupage service. This has now been upgraded to bi-weekly.”

Dedicated shuttle trucks depart from each hub every Tuesday and Friday, arriving at the opposite depot on a Friday and Tuesday. International shipment costs are reduced by Tychy’s location in southern Poland.

Collection and delivery can be made from/to locations throughout both countries with typical door-to-door transit times of one week.

Both warehouses offer cross docking and storage options, with further logistics services such as pick and pack available on demand.

“The service has got off to a very promising start and we see potential for further growth, especially from Poland to Spain, where some weeks we have already moved three or four full truckloads,” added Krystian.
