Record growth provides a strong platform

Transmec UK has recorded its best-ever financial performance in the first six months of 2018.

The company saw turnover surge to £17 million - a year-on-year increase of 15 per cent - with all business areas performing strongly.

Shipment numbers increased by 7.5 per cent with growth in European imports and exports, UK distribution and international air and sea freight.

Revenue from storage and logistics was boosted by the opening of Transmec’s new warehouse in Worcester, its fourth in the UK.

“These record figures are the result of a great deal of hard work and dedication throughout the company,” said John Simkins, UK general manager.

“They also  represent  a  huge  vote of confidence from our customers, proving that our focus on providing a reliable, flexible and fast service is a successful one.

“We’re also in a very stable financial position – which gives customers additional peace of mind – and have a strong platform for further growth.”

With depots in West Thurrock, Bradford and Redditch, as well as Worcester, Transmec provides wide-ranging UK coverage.

It also benefits from the comprehensive European network of Transmec Group which has branches in ten countries including Italy, Ireland, Belgium, Germany and Spain.

The family-owned Group has built a reputation as being a key supply-chain partner and recent initiatives include the introduction of environmentally- friendly intermodal services between the UK, Italy and Romania.
