Our President

Class of 1922, he devoted his life to the road.

He started driving lorries for his father before the beginning of WW2 and founded the “Domenico Montecchi Trasporti Internazionali” in 1957, the very same year in which the European Economic Community (a precursor of the modern European Union) was founded.

A real visionary, he understood the importance of focusing on international markets and created the hybrid model of transports combined with freight forwarding that is still in place today.

Quick-witted with a warming smile, he always had time for everyone.

He leaves behind three grown-up children, three grandchildren, and the entire Transmec family who were always in his heart until the end.

He joins his loving wife Anna who recently passed.
