Natural gas trucks introduced to Transmec’s fleet
Always seeking to reduce its environmental footprint, Transmec has purchased ten high-tech trucks that are powered by natural gas.
The most eco-friendly fuel for internal combustion engines, natural gas benefits air quality, cuts CO2 emissions by 15 per cent while also dramatically lowering noise pollution.
For maximum impact, Transmec will operate the new Iveco Stralis gas trucks on long-distance European routes. Five are already in operation, with a further five arriving by the summer.
“It’s important for us and our clients to be as environmentally-friendly as possible,” said Paolo Montecchi, Transportation Manager for Transmec's Land Division.
“Whilst natural gas trucks are more expensive, we are in no doubt that it’s the right step to take.”
