Logistics services take off in Poland

Investment has paid off for Transmec Poland, which has picked up a string of new logistics contracts.

Based at Gliwice, the branch has been transformed in recent years after moving to a state-of-the-art warehouse and building a strong team.

“We moved in early 2021 and since then we haven’t looked back,” said Sylwia Maciejewska, general director of Transmec Poland.

“Our aim was always to build on our transport services and add value for customers by developing our logistics capability. It’s proved extremely successful - things have really taken off.”

Delivery has been boosted by team development sessions and customer care training, while capability has increased thanks to a warehouse extension, racking installation, CCTV monitoring and new trailers to add to its fleet.

Growth has followed with the branch serving customers in multiple sectors, including automotive, beauty, fashion, high-tech, furniture and FMCG.

At the end of 2022, Transmec Poland launched a long-term project for a German customer’s new plant in Poland. This involves full managing JIS (just in sequence) deliveries of components for truck cabins.

The latest contract is a pick and pack, stock keeping service, managing and delivering a range of 650 products to hair and beauty salons throughout Poland.

The branch continues to provide regular overland transport to destinations across Europe - including Italy, UK, Spain, Germany and Benelux - and North Africa, especially Tunisia and Morocco where Transmec operates its own warehouses following its recent acquisition of TNA Cargo.
