Fashion goes electric

Fashion takes a new direction and chooses electric for urban distribution

The fashion sector, long a driver of innovation, is now facing a new challenge: extending innovation beyond garment design to embrace sustainability.

From emerging labels to established names, every brand is being called upon to rethink its approach and seek solutions that reduce environmental impact across the entire value chain.

A key aspect of this transformation concerns Scope 3 emissions—those generated by activities outside the company’s direct operations, such as raw material sourcing, transport, distribution, product use, and disposal.

Choosing partners that offer electric transport solutions, for instance, is a vital step towards cutting logistics-related emissions, reducing Scope 3 emissions, and aligning with global sustainability goals.

In this context, a renowned fashion brand has made a strategic choice by entrusting Transmec with the distribution to its stores in Rome using fully electric vehicles.

The vehicles, with a capacity of between 15 and 18 pallets and an average range of around 225 km, will ensure 1,300 deliveries per year, covering an estimated 33,000 km. Thanks to electric transport, CO₂ emissions will be reduced by 43% compared to an equivalent diesel-powered service.

This is just one of many possible ways to turn sustainability from a statement of intent into tangible results. Choosing low-impact transport solutions not only cuts emissions, but also helps build a future where innovation and environmental responsibility travel hand in hand.
