Bouncing back in India
Transmec has experienced record growth in India as the country’s economy rebounds in spectacular fashion.
Annual turnover for 2021 has increased by more than 75 per cent and is projected to reach its highest ever level of 740 million Rupees (8.65 m euros).
“Transmec’s performance has been very strong, outstripping India’s wider economic growth which has followed the ravaging second wave of Covid earlier in the year,” said director of Transmec India, Anil Malhotra.
“India has done a remarkable job in vaccinating its huge population and this has provided the platform for its tremendous recovery – during the third quarter of 2021 the economy grew by 8.4 per cent with exports rising by 28 per cent.”
Established in 2005, Transmec India employs 42 people across branches in New Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai and Hyderabad.
Managing a balance of inbound and outbound freight, all Transmec India offices provide a full range of freight forwarding services, including air freight, sea freight and customs brokerage.
Further expansion is planned for 2022 with proposals to open a new branch in the western city of Ahmedabad.
