AEO award for Transmec Romania

Transmec Romania has proved the quality of its supply chain operations by being awarded Security Authorised Economic Operator (AEOS) status.

A globally-recognised quality mark, AEO status shows compliance with EU customs duty processes and documentation, thereby encouraging customs officials to give faster clearance on goods.

AEOS also speeds up authorisation by demonstrating that Transmec Romania’s warehousing and operational activities meet strict safety and security criteria.

The application process began in December 2018 and has involved all Romanian branches - Bucharest, Oradea, Brasov and Timisoara.

Europe Quality Manager, Marco Barozzi, said: “With Transmec Romania deemed to be a lower risk than non-authorised carriers, AEOS status is likely to reduce the frequency of customs checks.

“It also means that Transmec Romania can apply for freight to be cleared locally, away from busy ports.”

Transmec Italy is also set to gain AEO status and is expected to become a Customs Authorised Economic Operator (AEOC) by the end of the year.
